Travel Holdings launches Travelegent
Travel Agents membership network provides top technology and commissions for hotel, car rental, cruises and dynamic packaging
New York, September 3, 2006 - Travel Holdings Inc., a worldwide travel distribution company, unveiled Travelegent (www.travelegent.com), an exclusive membership network providing travel agents the opportunity for high margins of revenue using the state-of-the-art booking engine.
Travelegent is a fully integrated, password-protected booking engine and financial reconciliation system that allows agents to book pre-paid, worldwide commissionable travel products in real time through their desktop. Travelegent draws from the vast global travel network of Travel Holdings, which includes more than 30,000 hotels worldwide, airlines, cruises, car rentals and attractions and transfers, with the capability of easily creating dynamic travel packages.

Bookings through Travelegent will pay a minimum of 12 percent commission on individual hotel bookings, packaged hotels, transfers and attractions, 11 percent commission on cruises and 3 percent commission on cars. "In addition, agents will have the potential to make up to an additional 3 percent override on hotel sales and increase their mark-up at the time of booking," adds Consolo.
The booking engine searches pricing and availability simultaneously across all preferred suppliers. All reservations are pre-paid by either the travel agent or consumer credit card and Travelegent manages the financial reconciliation directly with the supplier and issues prompt commission payment to the agent. Travelegent works to give agents the ability to competitively position themselves within the online market.
