FORT WORTH, Texas, and ORLANDO, Fla. (June 13, 2012) – American Airlines announced today that global wholesale travel provider Tourico Holidays has implemented American’s direct connect – a technology link that offers travel providers access to American’s fares, schedules and customized travel products and services.
“American’s direct connect technology will allow Tourico Holidays to offer our customers the latest in exclusive travel innovations, like American’s current Preferred Seats and upcoming Main Cabin Extra products, in a personalized and interactive fashion,” said Jason Soss, President of Global Business Development for Tourico Holidays.
Travel providers can aggregate personalized travel products and services from American’s direct connect with information from other technology sources to produce a single integrated display of travel options, as Tourico Holidays elected to do in agent displays as well as its customer-facing websites.
Tourico Holidays has been using the link to issue American tickets for the past four months.
